Selena Gomez made an appearance Saturday at Chicago’s Norridge Kmart store to promote her fall Dream Out Loud clothing line, and she made one thing clear: no questions about Justin Bieber were allowed.

Who can blame her? People act as if Selena is a nobody without Justin, but that just isn’t true, and Selena has had enough. She’s her own person and it’s about time the world realized it! Before Selena even began dating Justin she had found success on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place, had started her singing career and was also booked for a movie gig (Monte Carlo).

Of course, the moment Selena Gomez began dating Justin Bieber, the relationship ended up defining her. Now, Selena is trying to get people to notice her accomplishments, which have nothing to do with Justin.

On Saturday, fans of Selena lined up early for their chance to have her sign a poster (the first 100 in line got a signed version) and meet Selena Gomez face-to-face. Gomez said meeting her fans “is definitely an adrenaline rush. I never quite expect to see this many people, and it’s just so nice.”
